This with one of the most touching stories I've heard in a long time. Three years ago, Melvyn Amrine of Little Rock, Arkansas, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. For his wife Doris, things have been particularly difficult – especially when Melvyn forgets very important details, like how he and his wife got engaged more than 60 years ago. And then, on the day before Mother's Day, Melvyn went missing.
Thank God police finally found Melvyn – and you won't believe where he had gone. Melvyn trekked two miles away from his house just to the store to buy flowers for his wife for Mother's Day. This was Melvyn's tradition every year since they had their first child. The officers who found him were so moved by Melvyn's determination that they helped him finish his journey and pick out flowers for Doris. Doris says, "When I saw him waking up with those flowers in hand, it just about broke my heart because I thought 'Oh he went there to get me flowers because he loves me.'"
I can't believe he remembered her flowers, but at the same time it proves love knows no limitations!!
