Powerful Exposé Uncovers Shocking Adoption Scam In U.S.

Holly and Mark Gonzales spent four years trying to get pregnant, but to no avail. When they decided to try adoption, however, things took a devastating turn — but in ways they never could have imagined.

The Gonzaleses found a wonderful surrogate named Kristy who was pregnant with twin girls, but couldn't afford to raise them. Kristy said she wanted Holly and Mark to be the parents. They were ecstatic.

But here's the thing: Kristy had no intention of being a surrogate for Holly and Mark. And her name isn't Kristy, it's Roxanne Janel Jones. Oh, and she wasn't even pregnant. Instead, Jones was a cold-hearted con artist driven solely by financial gain. She had already swindled 23 couples in her adoption scam, walking away with the money given to her by hopeful adoptive parents.

When Holly and Mark realized there were too many red flags to ignore, they shared their story with the media. This led to an undercover operation led by CBS News, which you'll see below, in which a news producer poses as a hopeful mother and sets up a meeting with Jones — but what Jones doesn't know is that the hotel room is rigged with hidden cameras.

Just wait until you see when Jones is finally caught in her heartless lie.

Following this investigation, Jones pled guilty to to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud, and one count of aggravated identity theft. She was sentenced to seven years and three months in federal prison.
