Woman Reunites With Her Lost Cat After Seven Years

The pain of losing a pet is unimaginable for any person. Tricia Osterman knows this all too well; she had been separated from her beloved cat Sophia for seven years after she disappeared from her Phoenix home.

"I cried for a week straight after we found out that she went missing," she told ABC 15.

The heartbroken owner had no idea that little Sophia had traveled around 400 miles to San Diego and ended up in the hands of a new family. When the family could no longer take care of her, they dropped her off at the San Diego Humane Society. The animal shelter scanned the cat for a microchip and discovered Tricia was the owner.

Of course Tricia was overjoyed when the Humane Society called her to let her know the unbelievable news. The story is reminiscent of a Boxer named Boozer who found his way back to his family thanks to the little chip that contains the animal's information.

In the video below, we see the heartwarming moment Tricia is reunited with her cat at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

"I'm so excited. I want to see my baby after all this time," she said.

It was impossible for her to hide her emotions. And just wait till you see their reunion at the :50 mark. It's clear just how thankful Tricia is.
