This Young Boy’s Reaction To ‘Brave’ Will Warm Your Heart

As someone who truly believes in the power of music, I'm always eager to see proof through video.

Music provides relief to many in need, as it memorably did for an elderly woman in hospice care. It notably even helps patients with Alzheimer’s, like the 78-year-old grandmother who still recalls how to play the piano

For a young boy named AJ Stafford, music helps him interact in a way that his parents rarely get to see. The young boy, who suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, can't walk, talk, or sit up by himself. But something incredible happens when he hears "Brave" by Sara Bareilles: He starts moving his legs in what appears to be a happy dance.

His mother, Stephanie Michelle, recorded the beautiful moment and shared it on her Facebook page along with the caption, "Let's try the unthinkable!" The minute his mother plays the empowering song AJ's demeanor completely shifts.

"Since AJ doesn't like a lot of typical toys like a 5-year-old, music is something that he draws to and Sara is definitely something that brings a smile to his face," she says in the video. "So that's just a small glimpse of what AJ does for hours while listening to Sara."

Please SHARE if this special moment brought a smile to your face!
