While out sailing with his family in the waters of Newport Beach, California, J.R. Gilkinson spotted a cute seal swimming around their boat. Besides noticing it's adorableness, the family didn't think much of it, however, the next thing they know, the seal is poking his head from the corner of the boat!
Trying not to panic, J.R. decided to sit still and let the tired looking seal get a few sniffs of the boat before it would swim off. But the seal didn't swim off, in fact, it stayed with the family for about an hour cuddled up to J.R.!!
You can see in the footage below the seal rubbing it's head against his leg. It was then J.R. realizes the seal didn't want to hurt anyone, he just wanted some love, which he gladly gave.
When the boat was approaching the Newport Marina, J.R. said his goodbyes to his new friend, who slowly jumped off the boat and back out to the sea.
