The ongoing legal tension between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continues to develop. Jolie has filed a countersuit against her ex-husband that is ostensibly about their ongoing battle over their French winery Château Miraval, but the suit also offers more details into what allegedly took place during a family dispute onboard a private plane in 2016.
Pitt first sued Jolie in early 2022 when he accused her of violating "contractual rights" after selling off her half of the winery. Jolie filed her own countersuit in October 2022.
Jolie's team claims that she didn't tell Pitt about selling her half because he asked her to sign "a nondisclosure agreement that would have contractually prohibited her from speaking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children."
The suit makes several claims, including that "Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face" and that he "grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her." The suit also explains that Pitt and Jolie began to fight in the plane's bathroom.
At one point, "Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall" and then "Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom."
When one child stepped in, "Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him" and "to get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow. The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other."
The suit also adds, "Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying."
