When it comes to the happiest places on Earth, you won’t find a happier one than Disney World. What’s not to love about a park with incredible rides, your favorite characters, and amazing food?
And if you’re a Disney fanatic, there’s no other place on Earth you would rather be.
That’s exactly how 12-year-old Ashley felt after asking her parents over and over again if they could make a trip to the Magic Kingdom. Sadly, they couldn’t make the trip happen.
Then her parents had an idea for Ashley’s 12th birthday in April of 2015.
They told their daughter that she had a dentist appointment close to her birthday and that they would come to school to pick her up. However, instead of driving her to the dentist, they handed her a colorful box.
Ashley had absolutely no idea what was in it and could hardly contain her excitement as she untied the blue ribbon and pulled back the tissue paper.
Sitting inside the box was a pair of Mickey Mouse ears.
At first, she couldn’t really tell what was going on. Finally, her mom uttered the magic words: “We’re not going to the dentist — where do you think we’re going?”
When Ashley realized that she and her family were leaving right that minute to Disney World for five days, she bursts into happy tears. Her parents had already packed their bags and put them in the car, so there was definitely no dentist appointment that day.
And with a hug and a tearful thank you, Ashley was off to her Disney adventure!
