All-Star Athlete Breaks Down In Tears When Mysterious Leg Pain Means He’ll Need Amputation

Every time something bad happens in our lives, we are reminded to stop taking life for granted — to be appreciative of all that we have and stop dwelling on what we do not.

Still, sometimes that reminder fades in time. It's heartbreaking to know that we don't always live our lives to our full potential, but thankfully we still have a chance to do so in the future.

Miguel Contreras was a runner and a wrestler in high school. He was athletic, ambitious, and active throughout his life.

But one day he started to feel leg pain and eventually it was too horrible to handle during wrestling.

When he finally went to the doctor, he was given a diagnosis that would change his life: He has osteosarcoma, better known as bone cancer.

That's where his true struggle and biggest journey began.

Eventually, Miguel had his leg amputated. Your heart will break as he recounts all that he went through and all that he's lost in the interview below.

But the beauty of it is that he has not given up on life. He has continued to strive for his goals, grow as a human, and remain an athlete.
