Relationships are hard: there are a lot of factors that can make one work or not. But in your heart, you know when your partner is right for you.
Dan McBride and his girlfriend, Daniela, came at a crossroads in their relationship: they lived on two separate continents. She lived in Austria while he was based in the United States. They managed to find a way to make it work, traveling back and forth to see one another.
But a long-distance relationship was not for Dan. He decided to put an end to it — by proposing! This past holiday season, he messaged Daniela's best friend, asking her to keep his secret. He made plans to travel across the pond for the big moment.
When Daniela came home, she saw a big box on the table, and assumed it was a Christmas present from her friend. But when she opened it, she found a laptop inside, and a note from Dan!
She burst into tears when she watched the video he made for her, narrating their love story.
At the end of the video, Dan appeared from behind her, and she jumped into his arms, totally surprised by his sudden appearance!
That's when he got down on one knee and proposed. Daniela gladly accepted, and now the two are on track to spend the rest of their lives together!
