True love is one of the greatest connections two people can have.
Throughout history, people have expressed their love in many different ways. Some have chosen to show their love through song, others through presents, and some through lavish romantic gestures. But then, of course, there is poetry.
While I would never consider myself a poet, I do find that poetry can be extremely powerful in expressing your feelings. So when I first read this poem, I was heartbroken that it seemed to be about a person who had fallen out of love. But then, I read it backwards…
This poem has been shared all over the internet — and for good reason. Reading it forwards, the poem is absolutely tragic. But reading it backwards, the poem takes on a whole new beautiful meaning that lifted my spirits and reminded me about the true power of love.

First, read this poem forwards…
I don't love you anymore…
I would be lying if I said
That I still love you the way I always did.
I'm sure
Nothing was in vain.
And I feel inside of me that
You mean nothing to me
I could never really say that
Our time together matters.
I feel more and more that
I'm forgetting you…
And I will never use the phrase
I love you.
I'm sorry but I must tell the truth.

This time, start reading from the bottom and make your way upwards.
I don't love you anymore…
I would be lying if I said
That I still love you the way I always did.
I'm sure
Nothing was in vain.
And I feel inside of me that
You mean nothing to me
I could never really say that
Our time together matters.
I feel more and more that
I'm forgetting you…
And I will never use the phrase
I love you.
I'm sorry but I must tell the truth.
