Though this one is more complicated, we had to share it with you because of the story behind it…
This project, created by Imgur user crackercortex, shows a step-by-step process of how he dug up a small hole in the yard, and eventually that hole got bigger, and bigger and after some hard work, he found himself with an incredible, multi-tiered pool that's perfect for his new family, and for hosting parties.
It's not just the final project we love, it's the reason he started the project to begin with: his newborn son.

When his dog died, the user dealt with his grief by trying to find work to do outside. He started to dig a hole in his backyard with the intentions of making a koi pond.
He had done similar projects before for other houses, but he had never done one in his own yard.
However, the whole project had to be put on hold once he had his son. He was more interested in spending time with his newborn than digging holes in his backyard.
That is until someone suggested the idea of thinking bigger than a koi pond and instead building his own swimming pool.
He didn't grow up with a pool, but he'd always wanted one. He decided that this was the best gift he could give his son.
He worked tirelessly to complete the project, but this required working in Texas' summer heat. There were days the heat would be over 105 degrees.
But he had inspiration to keep going. He thought about all the memories his son could have with their new pool.
He dug the hole, bucket by bucket, but says that the worst part has having to cut, bend, and tie the rebar.
Once the shotcrete had been applied, it took an entire week for it to dry and set.
He describes creating these rock formations as one of the most tedious parts of the process.
It took six steps to complete each rock formation, and then a professional had to help plaster the pool.
But, once it was completed, the final product was beautiful to behold. Not only had he built a pool, but one that was unique and the product of three months of hard work.
It's something he can be proud of, but also something his son will grow to appreciate.
For now, of course, his son can only use the baby pool section.
But he has many summers ahead to enjoy the rest of it!
It's an incredible creation for his friends, family, and — most importantly — his son.
