Bakery Owners Help Catch Suspected Thief By Putting His Face On Sugar Cookies

Karen and Eric Krieg own the Canfora Bakery in Milwaukee and unfortunately were the victims of a nighttime burglary.

After the owners closed up for the evening, surveillance cameras captured a male suspect breaking into their bakery and making off with their cash drawer and some other equipment.

The Kriegs called the police and also decided to turn to their community for help in identifying the unknown robber.

Karen and Eric made the most of the disheartening and frustrating situation by planning a very creative scheme together, then sharing that plan on Facebook.

They cooked up a special batch of sugar cookies — complete with red buttercream icing, sanding sugar … and a printed photo of the suspect's face smack dab in the center of each cookie.

Dozens of these "edible wanted posters" were given away to customers at no charge.
