The best artists are able to look at something ordinary and see something extraordinary.
Artist Stephan Brusche does just that when he draws on bananas.
When asked how he got started as a banana artist, Stephan told LittleThings: "It was a combination of things really that made me tumble into the world of banana art. It happened about six years ago. My wife had been pushing me to use Instagram for a while, saying it would be great for promoting my illustrations and comics I've been doing in my spare time besides my work as a graphic designer. And just after lunchtime I wanted to experiment a bit with the app, try out the filters and such…
"I then noticed I still had a banana left from lunch and figured it would make a fun picture if I just drew a little happy face on it… I made another 'fruitdoodle,' as I like to call them, the next day. After that, I just kinda challenged myself to see what else I could come up with to draw on a banana, and I never stopped since.
"At this point I've recently quit my day job and now I'm a full-time banana artist!"

Stephan likes how the ballpoint pen smoothly moves over the banana.
But he's ventured into other materials, like paint.
When asked if he eats the bananas, he said yes, always!
He has not yet tried to become a banana-bread master, but maybe someday soon.
Once he's snapped the perfect picture, his art turns into a healthy snack!
