Drinking and driving is a practice that everyone can agree is very bad. When one's judgment is impaired by alcohol, there's no telling what might happen.
Countless people have been killed in accidents involving drunk drivers, and it's time that more people were aware of the disastrous consequences.
Ultimately, it is up to a driver to decide if he or she is capable of making good decisions on the road, which can be dangerous in itself. Many will convince themselves that they are more alert than they really are.
But one woman knew she was too impaired to get home alone, so she left her car in the restaurant parking lot. Though she did not believe herself to be significantly impaired, she decided to do the responsible thing and not get behind the wheel.
Paula Grzelak-Schultz returned several days later to retrieve her car, which she had parked in front of the Original Joe's in Alberta, Canada. On her windshield, she found a note that she at first thought was a parking ticket.
Now that note, written by the manager, is going viral for the positive message it's sending!

Paula Grzelak-Schultz was visiting Alberta restaurant Original Joe's when she decided that she was too impaired to drive home.
She left her car parked in front of the restaurant.
When she returned a few days later to retrieve it, she noticed a slip of paper, which she thought was a ticket.
It was actually a note from the manager, thanking her for not drinking and driving.
The note read: "Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I'm not sure if you consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving."
The note continued: "Enclosed is a voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend."
The note quickly went viral after Paula posted it on Facebook, getting over 14,000 reactions and 7,500 shares.
Many people are applauding the restaurant and the manager's move to promote safe driving practices through reward.
Most people agree that this is an effective way to combat drinking and driving.
Now, they're calling for other establishments to try the same method to encourage their patrons to not drink and drive!
Of course, there are other ways to prevent yourself from making the dangerous decision.
You can have someone else hold your keys for the night, for example.
Additionally, you can have a designated driver who will refrain from drinking.
Hopefully with these methods, there will be less deaths and injury from drunk driving in the future!
