25 Artists Joined The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson In A Star-Studded Video For “God Only Knows”

We're something of nostalgia junkies here at LittleThings, and we love when younger artists put a contemporary spin on our favorite classics.

Last October, BBC Music delivered a video so star-studded that it has now been watched more than 11 million times on YouTube. The Beach Boys' iconic "God Only Knows" is remade with some of contemporary music's critical darlings. Here's the video's all-star lineup:

A young man leads the piano of the song's intro. According to BBC, 16-year-old Martin James Bartlett is a two-time winner of BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition, and of course the Beach Boys' own Brian Wilson.

On vocals and various other instruments, the indelible Stevie Wonder, indie-rock idol Lorde, Elton John, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Florence Welch of indie-pop band Florence and the Machine, beloved pop star Sam Smith, boy band One Direction, Queen guitarist Brian May, and countless other fantastic musicians from all over the world made appearances in the video.

“All of the artists did such a beautiful job. I can’t thank them enough. God Only Knows is a very special song, an extremely spiritual song and one of the best I’ve ever written,” Wilson told the Telegraph. Undoubtedly, it must have been an exciting moment to be surrounded by so many young artists who've been influenced by his songwriting.
