This Blind Girl Is Finally Able To ‘See’ Thanks To A GENIUS Invention!

For visually impaired individuals, simple, everyday tasks — like looking at the expiration date on the milk — often become bigger challenges. But a brand new smartphone app has been created that could change everyday life for the blind.

Danish nonprofit startup Be My Eyes created an smartphone app that connects sighted volunteers with blind people in hopes of making their lives easier.

So how does it work? According to the site, "A blind person requests assistance in the Be My Eyes app. The challenge that he/she needs help with can be anything from knowing the expiration date on the milk to navigating new surroundings." A volunteer then receives the notification. Then, via live video, the volunteer can help the blind person by answering the question they need answered.

If you love this idea as much as I do, you can become a volunteer. The app is free to download and available for iOS devices on the iTunes App Store, with an Android version currently in development.
