Beyoncé has played countless shows around the world, but there’s one in particular that will tug at your heartstrings.
Similarly to Taylor Swift, who performed an Adele hit at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Beyonce traveled to a National University Hospital in Singapore in 2009 to perform for young patients fighting cancer.
“We have all been traveling around the world, and touring, and performing, and I’ve met some incredible people,” she said before the performance. “Before we perform tonight I wanted to meet the true superstars so we came here to do a little performance for all of you.”
Moments later, Beyoncé’s backup singers joined her and together they emotionally sang an acoustic rendition of 2008’s "Halo." It's a custom for Beyoncé to dedicate the ballad to someone during a performance — as she's done in the past for Michael Jackson and Paul Walker — but this moment below is an absolute tearjerker, like the time Miranda Lambert cried when singing to a young girl with cancer during a show.
Beyoncé faultlessly sang every note — and just wait for the incredible harmonies at the 5:01 mark.
The superstar also concluded the performance with these words: “It’s amazing to be able to perform for all of you. We definitely see all of your halos. Thank you for inspiring us.”
