Boy Helps Rescue Kindergarteners After Bus Careens Into Lake

This week, a school bus carrying dozens of young students crashed and careened into a Florida lake. The driver told the kids to brace for impact, but it was too late — the bus flipped on its side in the water. As parents and first responders rushed to the scene, 10-year-old Nicholas was on the bus when he noticed the driver struggling to bring the bus to a stop.

“I saw him stepping on the brakes, but the brakes weren't working and then everyone started screaming,” Nicholas said. The second the bus crashed, Nicholas jumped into action without hesitation, helping children off of the bus through the rear emergency door.

The boy then grabbed a kindergartener by the arms, hoisted her around his neck, and carried her to land before returning to the bus for more students. Meanwhile, the 65-year-old driver remained on the bus comforting the kids and making sure each and every one got out safely. Simply incredible.

Thanks to this heroic young boy and the quick-thinking driver, there were no injuries. Please SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook, and let's give Nicholas all the recognition he deserves. What an amazing young man!
