For a few people diving off of a cruise ship docked in Mexico, a vacation swim took a very serious – and life-saving – turn!
A giant whale shark, which is one of the biggest animals on the planet, was spotted by a group of divers with a thick rope wrapped around its body. Thinking quickly, the head diver took out his pocket knife and freed the animal, its skin badly injured, but its body finally free.
The most amazing part is, it seems the massive shark was not become aggressive in any way, almost as though it knew that the diver was trying to help. Bravo.
Once the divers returned to the boat, they got a standing ovation!
