There are several classic rock musicians who were so essential at helping define the genre that they leave their mark on audiences forever. Imagine a world where we didn't have Freddie Mercury belting out ballads with his set of powerhouse pipes, or without Lynyrd Skynyrd adding a dash of Southern charm with their radio anthems.
Along with those legendary performers, Bruce Springsteen was there shaping the style of music we all know and love today with his Americana-influenced tunes. "Ain't Good Enough for You" was originally written and recorded sometime in 1977 or 1978, but remained unreleased until his compilation album, The Promise, which debuted in 2010.
The ditty was definitely worth the wait, especially when you hear it in this video featuring rare footage of Springsteen in the studio. His long, scruffy hair in some of the flashback moments makes him almost unrecognizable, but there's no mistaking those distinct raspy vocals as the one and only Boss.
The video shows a mix of two young Springsteens, using film capturing two different eras of the song coming together. As always, he's joined by his faithful E Street Band for this bopping tune that you'll totally have in your head after just one listen!
