When it comes to animals, I'd like to think that most of us treat them with the utmost respect and love. Unfortunately, there are some people who treat them more as possessions than anything else.
That's what happened to Budi, a beautiful baby orangutan that was kept in a cage and starved for most of his young life.
Budi was found in Indonesia as a 1-year-old baby back in 2015. His owner at the time had locked him up in a chicken coop, where he was slowly starving. Every movement caused him pain, and he struggled to even sit up on his own.
Thankfully, he was found and taken to International Animal Rescue, where doctors were determined to nurse him back to health.
At first, Budi would cry with any touch from a doctor. After a year of tender love and care, though, Budi is now a happy and thriving young orangutan.
Thanks to the incredible people at International Animal Rescue, and Budi's beautiful personality, we get to see him eating, swinging, and walking on his own!
Stories like these may have a rough start, but the light at the end of the tunnel makes it all worth while — especially when you see him look at you with those big eyes!
Please SHARE this wonderful recovery with all of your friends who would love to see Budi's adorable face!
