Brittney, a 17-year-old from Tennessee, is a passionate animal lover. However, her classmates mocked her for her love of animals, and constantly called her names. The bullying became so severe that her mom had to pull her out and have her home schooled.
Now, a small dog named Dodge is helping Brittney gain the courage to stand up to her bullies.
When Brittany found herself without any friends, she found a best friend in Dodge, a three-year-old Jack Russell Terrier. Dodge is a brilliant, loyal, and caring companion for Brittany, who has taught him to perform more than 200 tricks. Her talent and knack for dog training, along with the connection she's formed with her four-legged friend, has filled her with confidence.
"I want him to show everyone how amazing our bond is together, and show everyone who said I was an animal freak for loving animals is wrong and that I can do this, I have my purpose now," she told Local 8 news.
Brittany and her mom are currently brainstorming ways to raise anti-bullying awareness with Dodge. How amazing is this?! A teen once terrified to go to school and face her bullies is now facing them head-on, all thanks to a small but mighty pup.
