Bullied Teen Seeks Help From Counselor, But Her Advice Makes Her Go To The News

Cheyanne Gaffka knows a thing or two about how hard it is to be a teen in high school. The 16-year-old deals with bullies and has suffered from depression and anxiety. She goes to her school counselor, Janice Hobbs, for help and advice.

Cheyanne isn't the only teen Janice helps, either. She counsels hundreds of students about issues at home and at school and provides invaluable guidance that anyone at such a young age needs.

But perhaps she hasn't been fully aware of how much she's changed the lives of students like Cheyanne until now.

The teen reached out to news station CBS 5 to find a way to thank her for all the help she's provided. She wanted Janice to know just how special she is by paying it forward.

Cheyanne, her parents, and a news crew showed up at Janice's office for the surprise they'd prepared. In the teen's hands was an envelope with $500, which she gave to the counselor to recognize her influence and the difference she makes at the school.

Janice was stunned by the sudden arrival of so many people, but her jaw dropped when the student presented her with the generous, well-deserved gift.
