When dangerous situations arise, many unexpected heroes come forward and save the day in ways that can't possibly have been predicted.
Damone Hudson, an Ohio bus driver, was on his route one day crossing the bridge on the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton when he noticed something strange.
There was a woman standing on the opposite side of the guardrail, quite clearly on the bridge's ledge. He quickly pulled his bus over and hopped off.
The surveillance footage from the bus shows him approaching her cautiously, urging her to come back to the other side of the rail.
Damone told the woman, “Ma'am, you look like you're having a bad day. Can I give you a hug?” He continued trying to assure her and get her to come back to the other side of the rail until the police arrived.
Thankfully, when the police showed up, the woman did step back over the ledge. Since the video was shared, Damone has been hailed a hero.
He told FOX 45, "Everyone's going through something. Even if you are, just reach out and try to touch someone, even if it's in a small way."
