If you're afraid of heights, you may not want to watch this video, though I personally think it's worth braving the amazing two minutes of the footage — we so rarely get to see the world from this angle.
When I first saw a video of a camera attached to the rider of a horse, I was mesmerized. It honestly felt like I was riding the horse, too — but this video of a camera attached to an eagle is nothing short of breathtaking.
The Freedom Conservation attached a very tiny Sony Action Mini cam onto Darshan the eagle to capture him flying from the top of Dubai's Burj Khalifa. At 2,722 feet in the air, this building is the largest in the world, and this video sets the record for the highest recorded flight of an eagle from a manmade building.
The views are stunning, but my favorite part is when Darshan uses his incredibly keen eyes to spot his handler thousands of feet below. It's an incredible moment I had to share.
Of course, there's more to this video than just incredible views. Freedom Conservation's director, Ronald Menzel, told NBC News, "We know that people love these types of videos. It's a great way for us to attract the public's attention to endangered animals and to the fact that humans need to learn how to share their space with these animals."
After this video takes your breath away, please SHARE it with friends to help remind them of the importance of conservation.
