Carol Burnett Has The Perfect Reaction To An Earthquake During Her Show In 1974

For over ten years, Carol Burnett brightened America's TV screens on a weekly basis with her hilarious sketch show. Joined by her cast of equally talented comedians, they created legendary moments that still make people laugh and even a few that tug at our heartstrings. From its premiere in 1967 until its final curtain call in 1978, the funny lady kept viewers glued to their seats to see what she would come up with next.

In this clip from 1974, she invites the members of the Jackson 5 to co-star in a scene with her. Posing as an uptight music teacher, the band sits at their desks as she teaches them their own song. However, the mega-stars were not actually the most exciting part of the incredible moment.

While filming in front of a live audience, the studio suddenly felt the unmistakable shakes of an earthquake. Sitting in the front row, you can see a young Michael Jackson look visibly rattled by the commotion. However, as they continue through the scene, Burnett doesn't miss a beat and deadpans the perfect joke in response. Remaining totally cool and calm, apart from a few giggles, she keeps the scene going while her castmates cheer and laugh along.

The tremors weren't too severe and lasted for only a moment, but her legacy as a total comedy pro is sealed forever.
