Over time, even the most well-crafted pieces of furniture can, somehow or other, find themselves completely cast aside.
When Instructables user man-after-Gods-own-heart came across a tired-looking, but beautifully built, vintage cast-iron bench at his local dump, he tasked himself with a mission.
He would reinvigorate this beautifully designed specimen with new life — turning another's trash into his own treasure.
With his upcycling mind leading the way, this DIY-er thoroughly cleaned each bench piece before covering them each with fresh paint.
To truly imbue his old bench with new pizzazz, this crafty builder chose to repaint a few key details on its back panel in bright new hues.
These exciting pops of color created better defined focal points along the iron detailing, for a more modern look and feel.
Once he attached the cast-iron pieces to the bench's new barn wood seat, his restoration was finally complete.
Capitalizing on his savvy rehabbing skills, this upcycler gifted this trashed bench with a fresh new look and glorious second chance.

When Instructables DIY-er man-after-Gods-own-heart craved new upcycling inspiration, he ventured to his local dump in search of treasure.
Wandering the trash piles, he spotted a diamond in the rough.
A few vintage cast-iron bench pieces had been left to rot amongst the rubble. So, he claimed them as his own, and set off on a new DIY-ing adventure.
This builder started his project by thoroughly cleaning each bench piece.
Then, he sprayed each piece with a new coat of flat black paint.
While this upcycler could have stopped his painting tasks right there, he decided to take his new design one step further.
He selected a few key details along the bench's iron facade to coat in bright new colors.
To achieve his desired look, he used painter's tape to section off each detail from the rest of the bench's design, containing the paint to his chosen area.
Once the paint dried, he pulled the tape off to reveal his new pop of color.
He repeated this process until each little detail possessed its own new flair.
Once his colorful elements dried, he touched up their surrounding iron detailing with more black paint.
Next, he assembled his bench. This builder chose to fashion his new bench's seat out of barn wood.
He covered the wood in polyurethane, to boost its longevity.
With every piece secured in place, this cast-iron bench restoration finally came to a close.
Thanks to his crafty eye, this DIY-er saved this beautiful bench from withering away into oblivion.
After spotting a few beautifully crafted iron pieces at his local dump, this skilled DIY-er completely restored this vintage bench back to its former glory.
