A few weeks ago, a gorgeous cat found herself in desperate straights.
She'd been nursing her new kittens in a farm's shed when fire suddenly engulfed her surroundings.
Rescuers believe she ran in and out of her former home, trying to save her babies from the flames. But, when they found her, two weeks after the fire, she was alone and terribly injured.
Her rescuers, from Alley Cats & Kittens, searched the farm and surrounding area for a full day, hoping they'd be able to find her babies. However, their search proved unsuccessful.
They named the surviving cat Flame in celebration of her survival. Her vet at Rufford Vets in Southport worked tirelessly for the next few weeks, healing her wounds and hoping to give her the best shot at a second chance.
Two weeks later, she finally began showing signs of improvement. Now, she's well on her way toward leading a happy life once more.

A few weeks ago, Flame the cat's entire world came crashing down around her.
She was nursing her new kittens in a farm's shed, when suddenly, her surroundings caught fire.

Rescuers believe this little hero desperately tried to save her babies from the flames, running in and out of the fire-stricken shed.
However, a few weeks later, she stumbled toward a local café, defeated, alone, burned, and pleading for help.
The café owner immediately phoned stray rescuers from Alley Cats & Kittens, who rushed her to the emergency room at Rufford Vets in Southport.

Once Flame arrived at the ER, her new vet immediately began tending to her wounds.
The vet bathed her and began applying creams to her singed skin, a practice the vet then repeated day after day for weeks.

The fire had badly burned Flame's paws, so the vet cleaned and wrapped each foot in its own cast, to let them heal free of infection.

And so Flame waited, under her vet's watchful eye, recuperating from her ordeal.

After a few weeks in intensive care, and a few weeks out of ICU but still at the vet, Flame's kind doctor decided to take Flame home with her, for a change of pace.

Slowly but surely, little Flame's fur started regrowing, and her spirits began improving.
Now, Alley Cats & Kittens is raising money to cover Flame's medical bills via GoFundMe.
After braving such a catastrophe, a light now flickers in the distance — dawning Flame's new beginning.
Rescuers are hoping to find her a loving forever home once she heals completely.
After surviving a terrible fire, Flame the cat's rescuers and vet gave her a beautiful second chance at living a new, happy, healthy life.
