A little six-year-old girl, the daughter of a firefighter, is being hailed a hero for saving her family from a devastating house fire. On Tuesday, Victoria Pierro woke up in the middle of the night when she realized her fan stopped running. The kindergartner then smelled smoke and saw flames, so she rushed to wake up her mother, Lori Pierro.
Thanks to the little girl, mom was able to run upstairs and alert the rest of the family members to get out of the home. The fire detectors still hadn't gone off yet, so this little girl saved the day. All five members of the family — Anthony Pierro; his wife, Lori; Nicholas, 15; Christian, 12; and Victoria — made it out of the Swampscott, Massachusetts home safely as the house went up in flames.
Although the family lost almost everything in the incident, they're remaining positive and thankful that everyone made it out of the blaze alive.
"She saved the day; she’s my hero," Lori Pierro told The Salam News about her daughter.
