Every Chick-fil-A Chandelier Is Actually Made Of Recycled Coca-Cola Bottles!

Kathleen Plate is an artist who works with trash. She likes to take things that most people wouldn't look twice at and transform it into something extraordinary. Kathleen works with old, tossed-away bottles. When Chick-fil-A shifted their focus to the environment and sustainability, they looked Kathleen up and came up with a stunning idea. They decided to transform the classic glass Coca-Cola bottle into something iconic for each Chick-fil-A restaurant: a chandelier.

Kathleen uses diamonds and water to cut each C0ca-Cola in half. She then melts the bottles down until they totally flatten. Then she carefully places each bottle onto a sheet of glass using a special glue mostly used for aerospace engineering.

"People might see these and think they are made in a factory or by a machine. But they are actually made by my hands, one by one. I think it's such a testament to Chick-fil-A's commitment to that handcrafted nature and wanting to have that in each on of their stores," she says. I always think it's amazing when major corporations to take the time to consider their impact on the environment and take steps to reduce waste. It's also commendable that they are supporting artists like Kathleen!
