Photo Of Police Officer Tying Young Boy’s Shoe Goes Viral

A photo of a Houston police officer interacting with a young boy is getting a lot of positive attention.

Jill Becker Bays snapped the picture of the officer tying the young boy's shoe at a local Texas Whataburger and shared it on her Facebook page. Her intent, she said, was to showcase the cop's sweet deed in the midst of "all the negative attention" that police officers have been receiving.

During a visit to the fast food joint, Bays noticed that the young boy approached the table of cops and spoke to them numerous times.

"At one point one of the officers pointed out that the boy's shoe was untied. He slapped his knee, asking the boy to put his shoe on it so that the officer could tie the laces," she wrote. "I took this picture because it was a small gesture of service but it meant the world to a young boy."

Like the police officer who helped two siblings struggling with laundry bags and the cops who took a break to play some basketball with New York City teens, the one in the picture made many people smile.

"They deserve a world of support for all they do," one Facebook user commented.
