Mom Asks 5-Year-Old For Birthday Theme, Then Daughter Answers ‘Costco’

Every parent knows that there are going to be few years somewhere in the middle where all you do is throw themed birthday parties. On the other hand, very few parents have had the distinct privilege of planning a birthday with a Costco theme.

The lucky mom in question is Niki Walker of North Carolina. She recently asked her daughter Kimber how she would like to celebrate birthday number five.

Kimber told her mom that she wanted a Costco theme for her fifth birthday party, much like the creative couple who staged their engagement photos inside the wholesale retailer.

Almost any mom would have been surprised by the announcement, but not Niki. Little Kimber has actually been begging for a Costco party for the past two years.

For Kimber's fifth birthday, Niki decided to make her little one's unconventional dream come true.

Meet little Kimber Walker.

Kimber just turned 5, and she asked her mom for a very special birthday to celebrate the milestone occasion.

Some little girls might have asked for mermaids or princesses, but Kimber, a girl after our own hearts, lodged a very different request.

She wanted her birthday to be Costco themed.

In fact, mom Niki Walker says that Kimber has been obsessed with Costco for years now. She's actually been asking for this exact birthday party theme for two years now.

In honor of birthday number five, Niki decided it was time to celebrate in style, with all the perks of a shopping at member's only wholesale club.

Naturally, that meant awarding "Employee of the Month" to a certain special someone pictured above!

Niki went all out with the Costco theme. All snacks and sides were served in little paper cupcake sleeves.

This, of course, is a nod to Costco's famously amazing food samples, liberally offered at every location.

Now, Kimber and her friends could enjoy the glee of eating all the birthday nibbles in snack sample form!

For their main course, the guests noshed on piping-hot Kirkland pizza, another classic from Costco's signature line.

There is no one who doesn't love Costco pizza, and the party theme was a major hit with all of Kimber's pals.

Niki told The Huffington Post, "[The guests] thought it was hilarious and quirky, which both describe my daughter," adding, "One of the little girls that came said that it was the best party that she had ever been to, including all of her own."

The fun just kept rolling on! If you thought it might be tricky to get a lot of mileage out of the Costco theme, you thought wrong.

As an arts and crafts activity, kids made their very own membership cards in a setup by the "cash register."

Kimber, meanwhile, had her own special ID card: a real Costco employee ID provided by the kind employees at her local Costco in Winston-Salem, NC.

For dessert, guests ate Kirkland ice cream and dug into a delicious Kirkland cake.

The cake was specially frosted in honor of Kimber. It is printed with the words, "Employee of the Month," and "5 Years of Service."

If that isn't dedication, we don't know what is!
