Boy Attends Elementary School In The ’80s. Decades Later, He Rents An Apartment In The Building

Many people already have an idea of what the perfect home would look like before they even start looking for a house.

But for David and Angel Silvers, they happened upon the perfect home by chance, when they saw a "For Rent" sign on the lawn of the Martinson School building.

David was already familiar with the building, to some extent. He used to attend school there in the '80s. He immediately knew he could live there and relive the memories of his youth every day. So he and his wife made the move and totally renovated the entire space to make it their own.

In the interview below, cameras are allowed inside their apartment in the building, and you can see how much — and how little — the interior has changed. While their personal possessions and the comforts of home now adorn former classrooms, there are still remnants that remind them of where they actually are. The exposed brick is still there, along with the many chalkboards and desks and chairs.

David and Angel are certainly very happy with the way things worked out for them: They love the space, the neighborhood, and the community!

Now watch the clip to see what the beautiful interior looks like long after students walked the halls of the school building.
