Amber and Trey Masciarelli bought a foreclosed home and decided to renovate the old, boring, dingy bathroom — without any previous home renovation experience.
The couple from Bellaire, Ohio, set out to document the monthlong transformation on social media. And when they revealed the finished bathroom on TikTok, their video went viral overnight with nearly 6 million views.
When they started the renovation, Amber and Trey had no clue about installing tiles or how plumbing works … but they learned everything together along the way.
In the end, the Masciarellis ended up saving themselves over $7,000.
With her birthday at the end of the month, all Amber said she wanted was the bathroom of her dreams. Not only did she achieve that, but the challenging and hands-on process gave her and Trey a whole lot more memories, plus a ton of knowledge about home renovation.
