Videos of children surprising their parents with gifts always get me. Growing up, it's usually the other way around, with parents showering their kids with gifts come Christmastime or birthdays or academic achievements. But sometimes, kids just want to show their appreciation for the people that raised them.
Tou Xiong and her sisters wanted to show their appreciation for their dad, this time in the form of a belated Father's Day gift.
They gathered the family on a beautiful day in July 2016, setting up the scene for their dad's arrival.
In the video below, he comes out of the house, led by Xiong's mom. Dad has a long, purple blindfold tied on his face.
As he's led forward, he has no idea that awaiting him, with a big old bow on top of it, is a brand-new red truck.
When he's in position and the family is ready to take in his reaction, Mom takes off the blindfold.
"Happy Father's Day!" the family yells.
At first, Dad reacts with a simple grin. It's as if he doesn't realize what has just happened to him.
It's only when he's given the keys and moves into position next to the new truck for a picture that reality sets in.
Instantly, he covers his face, sobbing.
His daughters start crying too, and embrace their dad. Mom joins them as well.
"We all bought it for you, Dad!"
Judging from his heartwarming reaction, I'm sure Dad appreciated it greatly!
