Danielle Valloric isn't a stranger to complicated births. In 2009, her son Dylan was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. After spending six days in the hospital's NICU, Dylan grew to be strong and healthy. Then, Danielle's second pregnancy brought more trouble, and she needed a miracle.
In the video below, posted on April 25, 2017, Danielle and her husband, Jay Valloric, recall the day she gave birth in terrifying conditions.
As Hurricane Matthew started rolling toward South Carolina, Danielle learned that her twins had stopped growing inside her. She was induced into emergency labor four weeks before her due date just as the storm came.
"Our neighborhood was actually flooded in. Both entrances to the subdivision. It was completely underwater, the main road out there was covered in trees," Jay explains.
Despite the babies' premature status and the deadly hurricane charging through their area, the Vallorics welcomed their miracle twins into the world.
Baby Reagan popped out first at 5 lbs. and 1 oz. during the induced labor, followed by her brother, Carson, who weighed in at only 1 lb. and 5 oz. Just like his big brother, preemie Carson spent six days in the NICU, where he healed, grew, and got himself to a much healthier place.
Now, the Vallorics' miracle twins are happy and thriving.
