Deaf Sons Think Mom Has Magic Powers, Then She Realizes They Can’t Hear The Doorbell

Siblings often have a special and unique bond. They're the only other people on Earth who know how crazy your parents are, too! But what happens when your ability to communicate with your siblings is limited?

How do you work around the limitations of your relationship so that you can have that real sibling bond?

Brothers Joseph, Zach, and Ben Featherstone are deaf — but their three other brothers are not. Yet, the family has created a world where sound isn't necessary, required, or even desired to communicate.

They "hear with their eyes" and their touch. But just because they don't need sound to communicate — they've got sign language for that — doesn't mean they don't need their family and community. While there are some unique obstacles with being deaf, the Featherstones live full lives.

They go skiing, white water rafting, and have gone to college. Their lives are filled with love, and their supportive family has never made them to feel they can't do something.

When you see how these brothers get along and hear their hilarious childhood stories, your heart will melt.

I couldn't stop laughing when I heard how they thought the door was magic because every time their mom opened it, a person was outside. They believed their mom and dad could magically conjure people. They had no idea that mom had heard the doorbell and knew someone was visiting.
