Dad Calls 911 When Mom Is In Labor, Then Dispatcher Shows Up At Their Door

Marissa Knabb got the call at 2 a.m. The South Florida 911 dispatcher was overcome by the emotion on the other line.

A woman was going into labor and her husband needed to be guided through the delivery.

The 911 call reveals how nervous the father was. Marissa had been with the police department for three years, but she hadn't received a call quite like this. Even so, the dispatcher remained completely calm during the family's life-changing moment.

"Usually, the head delivers first," Marissa told Omolarra Awujoola's husband over the phone. "So as the head begins to deliver, support it gently to prevent the baby from coming out too fast."

Marissa continued to instruct the dad until he successfully delivered their baby boy, Yousef.

Nearly two months later, Marissa finally had a chance to meet the couple, as well as the little baby she helped to bring into the world.

"It's a joy that I can't even explain," Omolarra said. "I knew I wanted to have a natural birth, but I didn't know it would be at home, and I didn't know my husband was going to deliver my baby. He actually caught the baby."

Omolarra feels eternally grateful that her son was born happy and healthy, even if it was a little earlier than she had prepared for! Fortunately, Marissa was there to answer the call.

"She was absolutely great and I don't know what would've happened if she wasn't directing my husband," Omolarra added.

Please SHARE this touching reunion if you're glad it was Marissa on the other line of that phone call!
