Here at LittleThings, we absolutely love it when people repurpose old household items into stuff that's not only new-and-improved, but also functional. This DIY project is no exception, as the end result is an affordable-yet-awesomely-rustic ice chest/cooler that was once an old, beat-up refrigerator.
Watch as Elliot presents a video slideshow showing how he turned an old broken mini fridge into a party cooler perfect for the deck or patio. He used dog-ear redwood fencing as the siding, so this cooler is way more visually appealing than those standard plastic coolers.
The first step in transforming an old, broken fridge (which you can do with a refrigerator of any size) is to remove its "guts," like the fan, shelves, and any and all food. Watch the video below for a complete step-by-step.
This project reminds me of the old, cheap clawfoot bathtub that was turned it into a beautiful sofa that we recently featured. I feel so inspired to refurbish something of my own!
