When the open road recently beckoned two avid adventurers, they decided to answer its call, leave their humdrum daily grinds behind, and trek out into the great unknown.
Instructables user Court and his soon-to-be bride Jess have been craving adventure for quite a while. In time, the couple saved up enough money to cash in on a Sprinter van. They'd remodel this van into a livable home on wheels, perfectly suited to their traveling dreams.
In preparation for their build, this DIY-er designed custom cabinetry to line their Sprinter's interior.
Then, after a professional-grade foam insulation spray, he began installing their home-to-be's wood paneling, cabinets, and kitchen appliances.
This savvy builder even added solar paneling atop the RV's roof, to help generate power in the wilderness.
Six months of diligent labor later, their van was complete. Next month, this happy couple plans to marry and set off on their cross-country journey.

Recently, Instructables user Court and his fiancée, Jess, decided to take a short break from their normal lives to indulge their inner adventurers.
They planned to travel around the entire United States in a six-month time frame, and live out of an incredible Sprinter van converted into a home on wheels.
The only snag in their plan was that they didn't yet own one of these fantastic vans.
So, this couple saved up, did their research, bought the 2006 Sprinter model of their dreams, and Court got to work transforming it into their ideal mobile living space.
To improve climate control within the van, these DIY-ers opted to have its interior professionally foam-sprayed.
Before the appointment, though, Court installed the van's primary wiring and taped off all the areas they didn't want sprayed with foam. This would guarantee easy cleanup after the insulation set.
Once the van was properly insulated, this builder paneled its inner walls and floor with 1/8-inch baltic birch plywood.
This particular, thin wood grade offered a gorgeous look and feel without intruding into the living space.
Court then spent hours painstakingly designing the van's cabinets via computer program. He drafted and redrafted their dimensions to perfectly suit the van's unique inner shape.
After fully paneling the van's interior, these builders got to work assembling their custom cabinetry.
Thanks to Court's expert design, these cabinets fit perfectly into place.
With a comfy mattress positioned right on top, this van's living room can easily become a bedroom at the drop of a hat.
These adventurers knew they'd want to be able to eat well wherever they wound up on the open road.
So, they installed an oven, a range, and a hood as well as a sink with running water.
To accommodate easy maintenance, this DIY-er decided to position the propane tank and water pump fueling the van's amenities inside the van rather than on its underbelly.
Having these features inside the van instead of out would keep them at a more regulated climate as well as safe from harm, even traveling across the bumpiest of terrains.
With a few cozy cushions, and some more decorative hardware, this van was ready to hit the open road.
Now, no matter where their travels take them, these builders will have a comfy spot to rest their weary heads come sunset.
These crafty creators can even turn their van's passenger seat around to accommodate more visiting guests within their living space.
This van will likely take these DIY-ers to some pretty fantastic places.
And no matter where they end up, they'll have power. Court installed solar panels atop the van's roof.
He even hinged them to be able to open in either direction, to catch as much sunlight as possible.
These DIY-ers also added a little pull-out porch off their van's back — a wonderful place to relax in the wilderness after a long day of driving.
Hungry for adventure, two builders created their dream camper, and are about to set off on the journey of a lifetime.
