When you have a baby or toddler, it seems like they'll find every possible way to get into trouble. No matter how much it seems like you've "baby-proofed" your home, it's pretty much guaranteed that your little one will find some way to get themselves injured. But if you live in a home where putting a baby gate seems impossible in the places you need it most, this easy (and cute!) DIY stair gate will put your mind at ease.
Creating your own items for your kids might seem like a lot of work, but the payoff is great in the end. It's generally much cheaper than anything you'll find in the store, and best of all, you can create fun, personalized items for your youngsters, like this DIY water table that babies and toddlers will adore! But this baby gate isn't just easy to create and nice to look at — it's also extremely useful, especially in homes where traditional baby gates might not fit.
We've shown you other easy ways to make parenting easier, such as this super comfy baby wrap that will leave both parents and infants cozy and content, but this baby gate has to be my favorite. It's incredibly simple to put together, and it even looks cuter than normal baby gates! I'm going to be sending this video to all the new moms I know!

First, make sure you have all the supplies you'll need.
After laying the bias tape across the edge of the fabric, make a loop and secure it with the Iron Seam. Then, iron it to hold it in place.
Place some iron seam on the bias tape, fold your fabric over it. Iron over the fabric to make sure the bias tape doesn't move out of place.
Once you've completed the first two steps for all four corners and sides of your fabric, attach your four cord bundlers to the wall where you want to put your gate.
Make sure the bundlers are a good distance and height so your baby gate is exactly where it needs to be to protect your little tyke!
Secure all your loops using the cord bundlers...
...and finally, your DIY baby gate will be all set up!
