I am the designated bug killer in my home. Spiders, flies, creepy-crawlies: There is no bug that is no match for me — except the dreaded stink bug.
Brown marmorated stink bugs can emit a pretty terrible odor, usually used as a defense against being eaten by predators. But as the weather turns colder, stink bugs wiggle their way through doors and windows to hibernate in your warm, toasty home for the winter.
And since squishing this stinky bug will only force it to release its order, you have to get a little creative with your extermination — like this person who used a plastic baggie and four pennies to get rid of bugs.
So what's the best way to take care of this stinky little pest? Apparently, as demonstrated by the brilliant DIY tutorial below, the answer is an old coffee cup and some tape!

To make her stink bug trap, this clever woman grabbed some a razor, some tape, tissues, and an old coffee cup with a plastic removable lid.
On the plastic lid, she used a razor to cut an opening.
Then, she added water to the cup.
She then used tape to secure the lid to the cup.
To pick up the stink bug, she carefully used a tissue.
She then inserted the bug and the tissue into the cup, where the bug can't escape from the water. No release odor, and no mess. Now, her home will be stink bug-free for the winter!
