There's something so romantic about lying under the stars. Connecting with nature and going on a camping trip can be fun, but it does come with its uncomfortable moments.
Many people love the idea of camping, but sleeping on the cold hard ground and worrying about bugs all night isn't very appealing to most. We found a DIY-er on Instructables by the name of Doc Wyoming who may have come up with the perfect solution!
He made his very own micro teardrop trailer that hitches right onto the back of his truck. The lightweight mobile shelter doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but it's practical, it's stylish, and it gets the job done!
The finished product is perfect for a whimsical evening in the woods, and it's great for those who want to get close to nature, but not too close!

In order to allow your teardrop camper to come with you on adventures, you'll need a reliable trailer.
Harbor Freight sells four-by-eight-foot trailers for under $300 if you wait for a good sale!
Since the teardrop portion of the trailer is actually wider than the base, it's important to leave the wheel guards off so the platform can extend past the wheels.
Next is the trailer riser and foundation.
You want the foundation of your trailer to be far away enough from the tires so it doesn't scrape.
At this point, you may want to add some insulation to the base of your trailer.
Depending on where you're traveling, it can get chilly in these little trailers at night.
Next, it's time to cut out the profile of the teardrop trailer.
You'll also want to cut out at least one doorway and one window from your plywood shell.
For this particular project, our DIY-er opted for a double doorway.
One very cool feature about this project is your ability to get creative.
This clever DIY-er decided, instead of a roof, he would add a plexiglass skylight with exposed beams for optimal stargazing!
After attaching your plywood to the top of the teardrop, it's time to add some reclaimed wood to the sides of the trailer.
This DIY-er used a burning technique to give the exterior a unique color.
Interestingly enough, the technique he used also protects the wood from bugs.
Burning the wood doesn't protect the trailer from water, so the next step is important.
Choose a good water sealant and protector for the reclaimed wood portions.
No one likes to get rained on in their sleep!
Since the top of the teardrop trailer is made of plywood, you may want to stain it to match the reclaimed wooden siding.
Now it's time to add those doors.
Sand down the door frame and add some rubber door strips to allow the doors to seal tightly.
Then, it's time to add in the windows.
You'll need this opening to allow air circulation at night.
Now for the fun part: decorating the interior.
This is where our DIY-er let his wife take over, and we think she did a great job.
They even put in some wallpaper and a pretty string of lights.
This romantic teardrop trailer is the perfect addition to any adventure.
