Now this is one modern family. At the Badaling Zoo in Beijing, China, a pet dog became a mother to two very unlikely pups.
When a mother wolf and panther gave birth to many cubs, they were both unable to make enough milk for all the babies. That's when zookeepers stepped in and hoped a surrogate mother would be able to step in a nurture the young animals.
An employee's pet dog was still milking it's litter of puppies, so they believed she might be the best bet to step in as a mother. Zookeepers were amazed that the dog's motherly instincts kicked in. She was able to feed and bath the wolf and panther babies like they were her own. How incredible.
