Officer Bill Gutzwiller never forgot the big blue eyes that looked up at him from a dirty bin in a ditch. They belonged to an abused and malnourished pit bull puppy who was obviously in dire condition.
He did not know how the pup would turn out, if he even survived. He remembered thinking at first that the puppy was already dead, but when he saw he wasn't, he rushed him to get medical care.
The pup spent months being nursed back to health and miraculously survived. He was even adopted! A man named Brock Suhr has spent the past months with this puppy as his owner and friend.
Brock had the idea of thanking the person who saved his best friend. After all, without Lucky, he wouldn't be as happy as he is today! He penned a letter to Bill, writing as if he were Lucky, and even signed it at the bottom with Lucky's paw print. He also included current pictures of Lucky.
Bill received the letter in the mail and could barely believe this was the same puppy he rescued just 17 months ago. He looks totally different, and there are barely any signs that the pup has suffered any kind of trauma.
Of course, what mattered the most was that Lucky was in good and loving hands.
Bill even got to reunite with Lucky in person, and it sure looks like the pup recognizes him!
