Whilst fishing on Criccieth Beach in the UK, a man named Rich was busy taking pictures of the beautiful scenery when he heard his dog, Leia, barking feverishly at him from the water's edge. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect what came next, as Leia barked… "Dad! Dad! Hurry! This thing needs our help!"
Rich went to inspect what Leia was fussing about. As he moved in closer, he noticed his dog was standing over some kind of animal. At first, he thought it was a small shark stranded in the shallow water. But upon noticing a blow hole on top of the creature's head, Rich realized it was a baby dolphin who had washed up on the shore. The adorable, helpless dolphin was abandoned, and needed help — fast. Thank God for Leia, who ended up helping Dad save the day! This rescue is definitely one for the books.
Rich gently lifted and guided the beached baby back out to sea, and made sure to stick around for another hour, just in case he landed back upon shore. After some encouragement, the baby was on his way back into the ocean. Rich spoke to the coastguard and they reported it to the science team. Rich says the little guy was lucky, as there was nobody around for miles! Thank goodness for Rich and his four-legged kid.
