I used to think of bed and breakfasts as tiny rooms in stodgy, old cabins, but I have been seeing more and more unique, fascinating, and even affordable inns all over the world. I've even seen one in a hanging cable car!
If I ever find myself in Idaho, I will plan to spend a night in Cottonwood in one of the rooms at the Dog Bark Park Inn.

Their wooden sculptures, similar to the ones sold in the gift shop below, were so popular that after 18 months of taking more orders than they could handle, they had earned enough to build their dream project: a dog-shaped bed and breakfast.
Now they're living the lives they've always dreamed of. They have one of the top-rated bed and breakfast properties on TripAdvisor, where they have a nearly perfect rating and dozens of glowing reviews.
It took a solid three years to build "Big Willie," as they call him.
The inn has been open for 13 years now, and they say it has changed their lives.
It's not just the exterior that makes it unique and worth visiting.
The interior is full of personal, homey touches to make all guests feel right at home.
The dog motif continues into the master bedroom. It's a perfect vacation spot for dog lovers, and they even allow pets.

Visitors should also check out the gift shop, where they can purchase some of the chainsaw-made dog sculptures. The artists can make them in the form of any breed of dog, and they also do custom orders.

It definitely gives a new meaning to being "in the doghouse."
