A dog was thrown off the BQE Bridge in Brooklyn, New York last night, and fell almost 30 feet before hitting the pavement below. After a few horrified onlookers ran to his aid, they discovered that the 50 pound pit bull was actually alive, "crying out and trying to stand."
After the police arrived and suggested taking the dog to a shelter, concerned citizens decided to take him to the Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group in Cobble Hill, where vets said he had "a pneumothorax and an injured front leg," but otherwise seemed in a happy, positive mood.
I hope this sweet dog recovers quickly and completely, and that police catch the criminal who did this!
