Some dogs like to eat treats, play outside, or take a walk, but Elwood the pit bull loves to do yard work and tend to the bamboo groves! Talk about a godsend!
In a hilarious and adorable video, shot with a Panasonic V720 and a GoPro HERO3, you can see Elwood vigorously in action.
Floppy ears, heavy breathing, and a smile to boot, the cameras offer a comical vantage point from his dog collar. Elwood happily skips along as something like the Austin Powers song plays in the background. He helps his owner by maintaining the bamboo groves, and removes giant branches and places them into a pile.
While pit bulls are often subjected to breed prejudice, assumptions that they are all too aggressive or violent, many pit bulls have wowed their owners with their ability to love and help those in need, such as the pit bull from Virginia who lost her right leg to save her family, and Redd the pit bull who carefully tiptoed by a sleeping cat so he wouldn't wake her. Too precious!
Elwood takes instruction well by his owner and is very disciplined, but at the end of the day, Elwood is still a frisky dog. While he won't quit his day job, he takes a minute to chomp on the bamboo. Can you blame him? The crunchy sound is hilarious, and I'd be chomping away, too, if I were a dog!
When Dad realized that his dog actually liked doing the yard work, he figured he might as well get everything done with the extra help! Talk about "working like a dog!"
