At 69 years old, Dolly Parton has just about seen and done it all. The American singer-songwriter has performed sold out shows all over the world and sang with just about every country music legend around, but it's a recent duet that has everyone falling in love with Dolly all over again.
Who thought there could ever be a better duet than when she sang "Islands in the Stream" with Kenny Rogers? Dolly recently ditched Kenny for a much younger and cuter man, 12-year-old Gage Blackwell of Lynnville, TN.
Gage has Down syndrome and absolutely loves country music. After a video of Gage saying he wanted to meet Dolly surfaced online, Gage's mom Lynnae reached out and set up the quick meet-and-greet at Dolly's theme park, Dollywood.
When Dolly walked up as perky as ever, Gage's face just lit up. He had no idea he would be getting an opportunity that would make countless musicians jealous…a chance to sing with his idol.
Gage stood in for Kenny during a quick version of "Islands" before the eight-time Grammy winner went on to sing a bit from other hits like "9 to 5" and "Coat of Many Colors."
Lynnae told TODAY.com that Dolly made her son feel so loved and important. "She was so amazing to just embrace him the way she did. He will never forget her kindness…"
This is exactly why Dolly will always be the Queen of Country to me. A lot of celebrities could learn a thing or two from her kindness.
Check out the touching moments below, and don't forget to SHARE this video if you love what Dolly did for her young fan!
